The Wells Labour team promoting Education not Segregation
The Tories’ plans for grammar schools will segregate our children providing a privileged education for a few and a second class education for the rest. Studies1 have shown that creating Academies and Free school have not helped social mobility at all but simply increased segregation; increasing choice for the very rich but reducing it for the majority of Parents. Reliable long term studies have shown that bright students do just as well academically in state schools and many believe they end up more rounded and better adjusted people2.
