Due to the corona virus pandemic all elections have been delayed until May 2021.
At present we know that elections are scheduled as follows:
Election Day – 6th May 2021
Avon and Somerset Police and Crime Commissioner
Somerset County Council elections
We are aware that a number of bye-elections are expected for town and parish councils across the Wells Constituency.
Election Day – 4th May 2023
Mendip and Sedgemoor District Councils, and Parish Councils
Election Day – 2nd May 2024
UK Parliament
Note this is the date set by the Fixed Term Parliaments Act, as we saw in 2017 and 2019 General Elections can be called for any date with parliamentary approval.
2021 UK Census
Census Day – 21st March 2021
Although this is not an election, it is an important part of our democratic process. The census collects data about the population that is used to inform public policy.
