Labour understands that times are tough. High energy bills, escalating house prices and being able to afford childcare while you are at work. These are real problems for thousands of people.
A Labour Government after 2015 will provide real help:
[list type=”check”]- We have published and will stand by our cost-of-living contract. Fair taxes, fair prices, tackling the deficit but in a way that means everyone plays their part.
- We will end rip-off prices on energy bills. We will make life more affordable for millions of people. We’ll freeze gas and electricity bills until 2017 and reform the broken energy market to stop the cost of energy bills soaring.
- We will help people get on the housing ladder. Labour will build the homes Britain needs by getting 200,000 homes built a year by 2020. We will get a fair deal for renters with longer, more predictable tenancies and a ban on rip-off letting fees.
- We will support working parents with the cost of childcare. Parents shouldn’t face the prospect of taking a job that ends up costing them more than they’ll earn. We will give working parents 25 hours of free childcare for three and four-year-olds per week.
